Homosexuality is not normal

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I write in response to the article ‘Anti-Gay Discrimination Costing Ja $11b Annually, Says CAPRI’ (Gleaner October 30, 2019). The article contains spurious claims and is written from a flawed philosophical and ideological prospective.
Homosexuality is not normal. It is inconsistent with design and function in the universe and is correctly seen as a mental/psychological disorder, not a basis for civil rights, as blacks in the USA correctly sought. Design and function are the pillars on which modern medicine is built.
Homosexuality was classified as a mental disorder by the American Psychiatry Association (APA) until 1973 when it was removed, by vote, from the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM), as a result of severe political pressure by members of the ‘gay rights’ movement. The APA also used the demonstrable flawed science of Alfred Kinsey and Evelyn Hooker to support its political, not medical, decision.
SCIENCE IS CLEAR
The APA abandoned design and function (anatomy and physiology) as criteria for establishing normality when it declared homosexuality normal. It could only do so by vote, as the decision cannot withstand scientific scrutiny.
The science is clear, homosexuality is neither genetically determined, “born so” nor immutable. It is acquired after birth and is significantly due to environmental factors.
Political votes do not and cannot re-define reality. It is to be noted that eight years after the APA declared homosexuality to be normal (1981), the AIDS epidemics and subsequently pandemic started in the male homosexual communities of US cities that had removed their buggery laws. This allowed the establishment of bath houses in which male homosexuals pursued addictive and high-risk sexual behaviours.

... The single greatest cause for the spread of HIV/AIDS
Research by Beyrer et al published in the Lancet in 2012 has established that the practise of buggery and role reversal in this practise accounts for 98 per cent of the difference in HIV rates between MSM and the heterosexual population.
Other researchers have shown that this is due to the high concentration of immune cells, including dendritic cells, in the rectum.
In 2014, HIV rates in MSM in LGBT friendly Canada was 131 times that of other males. Why then should we accept as normal the very act that is the single greatest cause for the spread of HIV/AIDS?
Also, in LGBT friendly Sweden, both homosexuals and transgender individuals have higher rates of mental disorders than the heterosexual population.
FOOLISH JAMAICA
Jamaica would be foolish to follow the clearly incoherent LGBT+ political ideology that believes that it can defy nature itself. That folly has already cost millions of lives and billions of US dollars as a result of the AIDS pandemic.
Further, it is to be noted that HIV is declining and there is increased access to medical care for all citizens in Jamaica, even with the buggery law in place. The buggery law does not worsen or improve HIV rates, so it cannot be blamed for the rates of HIV in Jamaica.
