Below are edited excerpts from comments posted online by readers to yesterday's lead story 'Brady sues Bruce'.
On the road to hell
I could cry. While the country sinks under flood waters they fiddle. Those tasked to lead the Jamaican people to a better future are nothing but petty, self-serving dolts.
And, more fools are we because they trick us all the time. Year after year, we succumb to their lies and their ways. We are on the road to hell.

Never underestimate your opponent
Bruce Golding handled this badly from the start and I think it was his underestimation of the situation that got the better of him. I would never employ Brady as my lawyer as I could never trust a man like that; but never underestimate a person or a situation. It could be your last mistake.
Bruce has been underestimating a lot of situations and issues since he took office and he should therefore exit the scene as soon as possible, as I don't really see him doing any better. He has simply made too many mistakes, and we have capable and younger people in the party.

Too many distractions
Jamaica needs a leader who does not have the number of distractions Golding seems to have. There are too many pressing issues in the country that need full-time attention when the leader is busy dousing a fire here and containing a flame there.
In the best interest of the country, Mr PM, please step aside until you have the time to devote your full attention to the office of being prime minister.

Why fight the frivolous?
'He said Brady's suit was "frivolous and vexatious in law and shall be vigorously defended" '.
I said it before and I will say it again, when you listen carefully to Bruce Golding speak, when you carefully parse, you will realise that what comes out of his mouth does not make any sense. He is a more subtle George Bush. If it is frivolous, why must it be vigorously defended? Unless, in reality, it is not frivolous.
