18-y-o St Mary resident accused of stealing over $800,000 from house of relative

An 18-year-old St Mary man has been charged for allegedly breaking into the house of a relative and stealing over J$800,000 and US$300.

Charged with house breaking and larceny is Dwayne Williams, a labourer of Sue River in Richmond.

His court date is being finalised.

Reports from the Port Maria police are that about 8:30 a.m. on Friday, January 16, a relative of Williams securely locked her house and left.

Upon her return, she observed that the door was open, according to the police,

Checks made revealed that $829,000 and US$300 were missing from her house.

A report was made and an investigation launched.

The police say information gathered led to Williams being apprehended in St Andrew.

According to the police, a total of $741,490 and US$300 were found in his possession.

He was subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session.
