THE EDITOR, Madam:
The name Ena Collymore-Woodstock jumped out at me as I read The Gleaner’s online edition. I hadn’t heard or seen that name in years! And yet, I immediately had images of that lady in the late 1960s/early 1970s immaculately clad in her Chief Commissioner’s uniform.
I don’t remember her as attorney, judge or radar operator during World War II. I associated her with the Girl Guides movement, and she was often featured in this newspaper.
Not surprisingly, she made her century. Definitely a trailblazer. Surely une grande dame.
My sincere condolences to her family. Requiescat in pace.
