An invitation was sent in July from the Communist Party of China (CPC) that led to last month's visit to China by Member of Parliament Othneil Lawrence, the newly appointed minister of state for transport and works, and three executive members of Generation 2000 (G2K), including me. The 10-day political visit sought to strengthen relations between the Communist Party of China and us here in Jamaica.

Dudus was saying nothing we in Jamaica never knew when he pleaded guilty to criminal charges in the United States (US) last week. In fact, we know those were relatively petty crimes compared to the atrocities and barbarism which characterised his ruthless rule over that incredibly monstrous and murderous Shower Posse.

The Progressive Agenda of the People's National Party (PNP) is now out. So, too, are the critics. The critics to be most aware of are those who are quick to say they are neutral, balanced, and objective, but in fact, on closer examination, they are in support of the arrogant 'Goldingnisation' of the country.

The economy is slipping again just when some growth was reported for the first two quarters of the year. That growth followed 13 consecutive quarters without growth. Now, we hear that the next quarter might report flat performance, at best. Jamaica's team had secretly hurried off to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in August.

Over the years, many and varied plans at diversifying Jamaica's energy mix (to include renewable energy sources) have been promulgated yet, today, oil remains the primary fuel for electricity generation in Jamaica. The local context dictates that 65-70 per cent of the monthly electricity bill is directly attributed to the cost of fuel.
