Leeward beat Windward

The Leeward Islands beat Windward Islands by 28 runs in their 14th and final round West Indies Cricket Board regional four-day match at the Adelita Cancryn yesterday.



The Windward Islands, chasing 249 to win were bowled out for 220, after resuming on 110 for seven.



Final scores in the game:- Leeward Islands 243 and 276; Windward Islands 271 and 222.



Despite the loss, however, Windward Islands claimed second place in the standings with 79 points behind winners Jamaica. Leeward Islands finished on 77 points to claim third place; while Trinidad and Tobago ended up fourth with 70 points.



The match between hosts bottom place Guyana and fifth place Barbados ended in a draw at the National Stadium.



Final scores in that game were Guyana 334 and 360; Barbados 396 and 67 for one.
