Kevin Pietersen has threatened to quit as captain of England cricket team over the non-selection of Michael Vaughan for the upcoming West Indies tour, which starts later this month.

The Daily Mail revealed yesterday that Pietersen wanted the former England captain for the Caribbean tour but failed to secure the support of coach Peter Moores.

The report further said that Pietersen has asked to speak with the England and Wales Cricket Board chairman Giles Clarke on the issue

Pietersen is a strong supporter of the former skipper and despite a lack of runs in recent time, believes the batsman can play a crucial role in the Ashes series this summer.
