The Community Safety and Security Branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has put plans in place to enhance the Neighbourhood Watch Programme across the island.

Head of the Branch Assistant Commissioner John McLean says the programme will be intensified in an effort to curb criminal activities in communities.

He says the British government has already provided funds to assist the Jamaican police in this initiative.

ACP McLean says the programme is also aimed at boosting community policing and renewing the public’s confidence in police personnel.
