West Indies rally against Australia
West Indies produced a stirring late comeback to leave the third Test against hosts Australia in the balance, as 16 wickets fell on day three in Perth.
Resuming on 214 for 2, chasing Australia’s mammoth first innings total of 520 for 7 declared, West Indies were bowled out for 312, 208 runs behind the Aussies.
Ramnaresh Sarwan fell without adding to his 42 and only Brendan Nash 44 dug in thereafter.
Left-arm seamer, Doug Bollinger was the most successful bowler for Australia with 5 for 70, while off-spinner Nathan Hauritz had 3 for 66.
However, spinner Suliemann Benn and Dwayne Bravo reduced Australia to 137 for 8, a lead of 345 entering the fourth day.
Bravo finished the day with figures of 3 for 34, while Benn had 2 for 26. Kemar Roach, Ravi Rampaul and Gavin Tonge picked up a wicket each.
Shane Watson has so far top scored for Australia in the second innings with 30.
