Mitsubishi Evolutions, Subarus, and a few other turbo-charged vehicles rolled out for Thetford Great House in Church Pen, St Catherine, last Sunday for its weekly lyme.

The occasion comes two weeks after the great house's soft launch to open its tracks to the general public.

"Right now, persons can just come and have a day of fun," said Kevin Scott, convenor of the project. "Very soon, we will be starting the registration of interested persons to be a part of the Thetford Great House and Country Club.

Scott said once the membership fee is paid, members would be able to enjoy the facilities.

At the moment, there is no cost to race.

Several drivers did test their skills drifting on chicanes and horse-shoe turns of the track which is still a work in progress.

Paul Cole, whose Evo' X was smoked by Scott in his Evo' IX, was standing by his dirt-covered car after the race.

"The track is nice and refreshing, It's still in the early stages, but it's a nice vibes out here. It was a nice little lyme," Cole said.

Visitors also enjoyed refreshments being served, music, and a view of the sea.

Scott also said an added feature to the property is Jamaica Farmville Live.

This, he said, was an idea which he got from popular social network website Facebook.

"All you do is pay your registration fee. You then get a 10ft x 10ft plot of land where you can farm whatever you want," Scott said.

"We will maintain it, but you have to come once a week to check on it. It's just like Facebook's Farmville," he said.
