After 10 years at Montego Bay's Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa, Carol Bourke has moved on to tend another pasture, where it is expected the tourism trailblazer will make the best of the new soil.

Bourke, who started working at the Wyndham Rose Hall (now the Hilton) as revenue manager to then assistant director of rooms in 1999, became hotel manager before the end of her tenure. She was given an intimate farewell party by her former staff last Thursday at Blue Beat in the tourism capital. Bourke has now joined the ranks of the few female general managers of major hotels in the country. She took up her new position at an Ocho Rios resort this past week.

The Gleaner's Outlook Magazine brings you highlights of the farewell function in her honour.
