Oh what a weekend, and it was all about the fabulous resort Hedonism II, located in the party capital of the Caribbean, Negril!

Suffice it to say, it was made in party heaven; the annual Miss Got-Talent Contest, which saw some near 18 girls from metropolitan Toronto, Canada, gather at the resort and in a contest where they shimmied and shook their booties for a cash prize, bragging rights and a return trip to the fab resort. And that was only Friday night's entertainment!

For Saturday, the resort upped the ante as it showcased some 12 men all vying for the right to grace the cover of the Hedonism Resorts calendar and bragging rights to being one of the hottest men in the world and not to mention a cash prize totalling some US$2,000, plus a return trip to the resort, as well as a basket of Jamaican goodies and gift vouchers!

Hosted under the theme 'The Ultimate Men Of Hedonism', this annual showcase is an all-time favourite for guests of the resort who travel from far and wide to be part of it. It's also a talent contest of the sexiest order, pitting men from various backgrounds, drawn from all across the globe, in a winner-take-all showdown that is usually breathtaking. As they are determined to win, the contestants usually bring their best performances, from anything as tame as a song or an amateur magic act, or at the other end, a wild titillating burlesque number.

Last Saturday's calendar event was a show-stopper, boasting four Jamaican contestants plus eight others from the Caribbean, the United States of America and Europe. Talk about heat in the place! And amid the screams, whistles and cheers, tattooed part-time model and exotic dancer known as Centerfold emerged as the crowd and judges favourite. Model and online talk show and TV presenter Brandon Lamar was first runner-up, with Jamaican beefcake dancer Bizzy emerging as the second-runner-up. And what's a contest without a celebratory after party? After the crowning of the Ultimate Man Of Hedonism Resorts, it was off to the resort's Hurricane Disco, where the contestants and guests simply danced up a storm in celebration. It ended only when night gave way to morning, and the need for a respite forced revellers to seek refuge under their eiderdowns.

And speaking of hot party spots, the buzz on the party circuit is that one of Kingston's favourite night-spots, Peppers, on Upper Waterloo Road, has closed its shutters, and thus bringing an end to era of fabulous partying, and karaoke singalong.
