Supporting the PSOJ

We strongly support the declaration by the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica to hold Prime Minister Bruce Golding and his Government to the economic and social commitments outlined by the PM in his speech of atonement on Monday night.

Indeed, the timetables for specific action and outcomes, which the PSOJ says it will demand, must be rigorously pursued and widely shared with Jamaicans. No longer can these issues be considered primarily the preserve of behind-the-scenes discussions.

Jamaicans must, in particular, be kept fully briefed and updated on the two most immediately critical issues: the restructuring of the public sector and the process for the dismantling of political garrisons.
