MIAMI, Florida (CMC):

The curtains have closed on a thrilling 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup, concluding with Jamaica’s Mount Pleasant FA hoisting their maiden trophy.

While the champions etched their name in history, individual brilliance shone across the region, culminating in the official tournament Best XI, a squad dominated by the finalists, but sprinkled with standout talent from across the Caribbean.

The selections, announced by Concacaf on the weekend, feature the pillars of champions Mount Pleasant, the relentless engine of runners-up Universidad O&M FC, and key figures from Cibao FC, and Trinidad’s Defence Force.

The last line of defence for the champions was the first name on the team sheet. Tafari Chambers of Mount Pleasant FA was a veritable wall, making 17 saves over eight matches. His composure and clutch performances provided the foundation upon which the title was built.

A blend of steel and distribution defined the back four. Cibao FC’s campaign was anchored by Edward Reyes, whose all-action contributions included 229 passes, 23 tackles, and 12 interceptions. He’s joined by Mount Pleasant’s Jamoi Topey, a model of consistency over 545 minutes.

The Spanish connection at Universidad O&M FC proved formidable. Julen Olasagasti was a revelation, contributing a staggering 341 passes and, remarkably, scoring in the final, while also making 21 defensive interventions. His teammate Yoan Melo was an ironman, logging 710 minutes of steady, uncompromising play.

The engine room showcases both creativity and grit. O&M’s Spanish conductor, Jon Tricado, dictated play with 324 passes and chipped in with two assists. For the champions, Jamaica’s Jashaun Anglin was the disruptive force, combining 225 passes with a team-high 26 tackles.

The standout performer in midfield, however, was Trinidad and Tobago veteran Kevin Molino of Defence Force. The talisman secured third place and a 2026 Champions Cup spot almost single-handedly, finishing with a tournament-best 388 passes, four goals, and two assists.

The forward trio is simply electrifying. Named the tournament’s Best Player, Mount Pleasant’s Daniel Green was the decisive spark, scoring two goals and an assist, with six of his nine shots finding the target.

Alongside him is a record-breaker and the Golden Boot winner. Cibao FC’s Colombian striker Rivaldo Correa became the Caribbean Cup’s all-time leading scorer with 10 goals, netting four this year.

But even he was outscored by O&M’s Haitian sensation Herard Frantzety, whose tournament-high five goals fueled his club’s final run. Frantzety scored in both semi-final legs and found the net in the title decider, cementing his status as a big-game hunter.
