British man allegedly held with cocaine at Kingston airport denied bail
A 24-year-old British man who was allegedly held with cocaine in his suitcase at the Norman Manley airport in Kingston has been denied bail.
Isun Shaka Haywood, a delivery driver of a London address, is charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, attempting to export cocaine, and conspiracy to export cocaine.
Haywood, who was represented by attorney Odane Marston, was remanded to return to Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on October 16.
Allegations are that about 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, Haywood arrived at the Norman Manley International to board an outgoing flight to Toronto, Canada.
He was allegedly interviewed by the police and his suitcase was subsequently searched.
It is being alleged that several rectangular packages containing a white powdery substance resembling cocaine were found.
He was arrested on suspicion of breaches of the Dangerous Drug Act.
The parcels, which weighed 10 pounds 6.21 ounces, were seized and taken to the government's forensic lab for analysis.
Tests reveal that the substance was cocaine
Haywood was subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session.
