Whether you’re a foodie, a farming enthusiast, or just curious to explore something new, nestled in the lush landscape of Highgate, St Mary, Cabra Ranch is an agritourism destination and goat dairy farm redefining Jamaica’s farming and tourism scene. Co-directed by Trudy Wilson, Cabra Ranch opened in 2019 with a unique goal.

“We wanted to create a space where people could truly connect with where their food comes from,” says Wilson.

The ranch uses a semi-intensive, rotational grazing system, a method Wilson explains is “vital to keeping our land healthy and giving our goats quality pasture year-round”. This sustainable approach has set Cabra apart, aligning with the farm’s commitment to animal welfare and environmental stewardship.

Over the years, Cabra Ranch has developed an impressive line of goat milk products that have turned heads. “A lot of people come in expecting a strong, goaty flavour,” Wilson says, “but they’re pleasantly surprised by how smooth and enjoyable our milk really is.”

Current offerings include regular goat milk, fresh milk, and a sweetened condensed milk that adds a rich, sweet touch to coffee or desserts. “The star of the show, however, is their rum cream, a fusion of smooth goat milk with Jamaica’s classic spirit, which has become a favourite among visitors. Our customers absolutely love it, and it’s always a hit during tastings,” she adds.

With an eye towards the future, Cabra Ranch is exploring a broader range of products. “We’re in the process of creating a health and beauty line with goat milk,” shares Wilson. “There’s so much potential in the benefits of goat milk, not just for food but for skincare too. We’re excited to introduce that soon.”

Beyond the products, visitors to Cabra Ranch can immerse themselves in the full farm experience. “We offer guided tours for everyone, from schools to individual visitors,” Wilson explains. Guests can learn about rotational grazing, the genetics behind high-quality goat milk, and the art of dairy farming. It’s hands-on, and people gain a new appreciation for what it takes to produce milk sustainably.”

Located just off Bellfield Road near Marymount High School, Cabra Ranch invites visitors to explore both the flavours and farm life behind their goat milk products. For Wilson and her team, it’s about more than just dairy. “We want people to come away with both a love for goat milk and a deeper respect for the work that goes into making it,” she concludes.

From fresh milk to rum cream, Cabra Ranch offers a flavorful, educational adventure that captures the heart of Jamaican agritourism.
