Don't be silent as speedsters kill you off
THE EDITOR, Sir:
When I heard of the fatal crash at the roundabout near Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, I had to wonder at the rate of speed that vehicle was travelling for the driver to lose control and slam into a stationary object, costing life and serious injury. It's quite obvious that speed was a major factor.
I also wonder why people of sound mind sit in a vehicle being driven at life-threatening speed and refuse to complain to the motorist to stop.
This matter of speeding is not only for the police to address, but for the travelling public to take a stand. People, when you're in a vehicle being driven erratically, you have an obligation to demand that the person behind the steering wheel slow down if you want to reach your destination safely.
